Kate Tesch

Oh, good, it is raining! My response, as a native Seattleite, has always been relief. The relief I feel of not having to get busy and get active, the relief of not having to find my sunglasses and relief that I won't feel guilty if I stay inside and cocoon. I love just watching the rain and keeping mellow. The windows, my view of the outdoors, make the scene abstract, nurturing my artistic sensibilities. The iridescent, glimmering drips forming layers of color are the inspiration for this series, not meant to look like the view, the object, or the scene but more to create a sense of wonder, a dream like abstraction of the world through my window.
